“My agent forgot to report the rental bond to fair trade. What should I do?” – Afifa

Afifa, we asked Head of Department at All Properties Group – Greater Springfield, Natasha Connors to answer your question:

In this situation, Natasha says communication is always the best first step.

“Contact the agent to discuss the reason why the rental bond was not lodged within the required timeframe and in any case, contact the RTA to report the agent’s negligence,” she said.

“Legislation is very particular as to when/how bonds need to be paid by an agent or owner.”
