We asked Raine & Horne Terrigal – Avoca Beach New Client Relations Manager, Madeleine Smith for her advice.
Madeleine said receiving a Notice to Remedy breach means you have not complied with the terms of your Residential Tenancy Agreement.
“For example, you might receive a notice if your property was not reasonably clean upon inspection, or you have kept a pet without permission,” she said.
“The notice will specify what it is you need to do in order to comply, and by when you need to do it.”
Madeleine said it would be in your best interest to make arrangements to rectify the breach as soon as possible.
Once it’s sorted, (i.e. the cleaners have been through or your pet has been re-homed), contact your Property Manager to advise this has been done.
“Let them know it has been sorted in advance, so they can advise the landlord,” Madeleine said.
