The iconic ICEHOTEL is open for business.

Located 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle and next to the shores of the Torne River sits the ICEHOTEL.
The hotel has been built and rebuilt every year since 1989 using ice from the Torne River. This year, however, the newly designed ICEHOTEL 365 has been unveiled. Rather than a pop-up hotel, the new structure will be a permanent one that remains next to the Torne River all year long, helped by solar-powered cooling technology during the summer months.
The ICEHOTEL is packed with amenities: Cold and warm rooms, as well as a dining room, cocktail bar, and communal changing rooms, toilets and saunas all found in the warm section.
Want to get married? The hotel also has an ice church attached to it to host the perfect arctic wedding. Of course!

As a guest to ICEHOTEL, you have a choice of 1 of 4 types of cold rooms. Each room will be kept between -5 to -8 degrees celsius…
Art Suites
The Art Suites are a series of rooms that are each thematically designed and feature unique hand carved detailing done by artists from around the world. The beds in every suite are made from thick mattresses on top of wood crates sitting on blocks of ice. Each bed is also outfitted with reindeer hides and thermal sleeping bags to provide ultimate warmth and comfort. The Art Suites are located in the winter structure and are only available from December to April.

Art Suites
Much like the exclusively winter Art Suites, the 365 Art Suites are each designed and hand carved by artists from around the world. Thick warm beds covered in reindeer hides and thermal sleeping bags ensure you have a warm and cozy stay. These rooms are available all year in the ICEHOTEL 365 structure.

Deluxe Suite 365
The Deluxe Suites are the largest suites available at the ICEHOTEL and have a number of luxurious features. A heated relaxation area complete with a private sauna, shower, and en-suite bathroom as well as an extra bed in case you don’t feel like snuggling to keep warm are all part of the Deluxe Suites. Like the other suites available at the hotel, the Deluxe Suites are all individually themed and feature hand carved detailing throughout.

Ice Room
The last of the cold rooms, the Ice Room, is the standard room at the ICEHOTEL. It provides an experience very similar to that of the previous Art Suites but without the themed designs and intricate hand carvings.

While it’s a hotel made from ice, the ICEHOTEL also has a number of warm rooms for those looking for a taste of normalcy during their stay.
Warm Rooms
The large heated rooms feature natural warm materials and contain a number of amenities not found in the cold rooms, including hairdryers, irons, and TVs.

Gotta say, as much as I love it, I find the “sheets” really creepy.
