COVID-19 restrictions are in force for South Australia from 6:00 PM on 20 July. Here’s what you need to know about the lockdown and where to get tenancy support.

Level 5 restrictions are now in place in South Australia. Check the SA Health website for an updated list of contact tracing and exposure locations.

The Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, declared Metropolitan Adelaide a COVID-19 Hotspot for an initial period of 7 days from 11:59 PM on 20 July 2021 until 11:59 PM on 27 July 2021.

The SA Government says it will also provide $600 weekly support payments to workers in regional South Australia, after areas outside of Adelaide were left out of the Commonwealth “hotspot” declaration, meaning they miss out on federal support. Read more about the COVID-19 Disaster Payment here.

What ongoing restrictions are in place from 6:00 PM on 20 July?

South Australia is currently under Level 5 restrictions.

From 6:00 PM on 20 July, these are the only reasonable excuses to leave home:

  • Essential work
  • To obtain essential goods or services
  • Essential Health Services, including getting COVID-19 tested or vaccinated
  • Care and compassionate grounds
  • Exercise with those in your household

Face masks

Masks (covering the mouth and nose) are required in:

  • High-risk settings
  • Health care services
  • Passenger transport services
  • Public places
